Jason Dodge

Join a poetry reading by Jason Dodge, as part of the opening of MOVEABLE TYPES. Dodge will read from a selection of poems published by fivehundred places. fivehundred places was founded in 2012 by Jason Dodge, in an attempt to bring new readers to some of the poets that have been so important to his thinking and working over the past decades. With a single printing of 500 copies, each book will find itself in one of 500 places. On the cover of each book is a dead scissor by Paul Elliman.

Mette Edvardsen

Join us for Mette Edvardsen’s performance Black (2011), as part of MOVEABLE TYPES. Black is the first part of a trilogy which includes No Title (2014) and We to be (2015). All three performances explore the possibilities and limits of language, how reality exists in language, and how it extends into real space. Black, in particular, concerns how to make objects ‘appear’ by naming them and placing them within space.

Evann Siebens

Join us for Evann Siebens’ performance Gesture by Number, as part of the of MOVEABLE TYPES. Siebens creates an archive of gestures that references the history of performing arts, media, dance, visual art and performance histories from Allan Kaprow through Gilbert & George to Marina Abramovic. She will present recent photographic collage work and this ever-evolving performance from A Lexicon of Gestures.
