Kunstcriticus Christopher Phillips is curator bij het International Center of Photography, New York en was voorheen senior editor van Art in America. Als (gast) curator stelde hij ondermeer de reizende tentoonstellingen Voices (Witte de With en andere venues, 1998-99) en Cosmos: From Romanticism to the Avant-Garde (Musee des Beaux-Arts, Montreal, en andere venues) samen.
